Getting paid in a timely manner is one of the biggest challenges a micro-business faces. We’ve all experienced payment issues with clients at some point in our business. Sometimes it’s the client’s fault. But often, we bear some of the blame because of the invoicing procedures we have – or don’t have – in place.
Pete Savage, from The International Freelancers Academy, has a done a 10 minute video detailing a couple of simple things you can do to help ensure that you get paid faster and keep your cashflow, well, flowing.
He says the three main mistakes solopreneurs make when it comes to payment are:
- being unclear on your payment terms
- invoicing too late
- and not asking for a deposit
